Police tight-lipped about stabbing in Mt. Angel

By Melica Johnson & News Services

MOUNT ANGEL, Ore. (AP) - Police in Mount Angel say five people have been stabbed in what's believed to be gang-related violence.

Police say a fight broke out at an apartment complex Sunday in the Marion County town, leading to the stabbings.

Police said Monday that nobody has been arrested, and the Marion County district attorney's office will make a decision about any prosecutions.

Initially, police said there were six victims, but on Monday they amended that total to five. All had knife wounds.

The names and conditions of most of the victims were not immediately available. KATU learned that one was listed in critical condition Monday at Oregon Health and Science University, but that person's name was not released.
