PORTLAND, Ore. - Environmental activist Tre Arrow was sentenced to 6 1/2 years in prison on Tuesday in a well-known eco-sabotage case.

Arrow, whose legal name is Michael James Scarpitti, accepted a plea deal in the case.  He is accused of helping to torch logging trucks in Estacada in 2001.

Arrow will be credited for time served in Canada where he was arrested in 2004 and he and three co-defendants, who already pleaded guilty, will share $154,000 in damages.

"I feel that I am not a threat to the public and never have been," Arrow said Tuesday.  "I do stand here today and do accept responsibility for my actions."
