PORTLAND, Ore. – Police are searching for four men involved in a violent crime spree last week in north and northeast Portland in which numerous people were attacked in separate, random incidents.

Police gave this description of the crimes:

The first incident occurred on Aug. 12 shortly before 4 a.m., when a driver pulled up alongside a red pickup stopped in the middle of Northeast 33rd Avenue at Northeast Columbia Boulevard, and those in the pickup ended up shattering the victim's windshield and then trying to run him off the road.

Minutes later, those in the pickup beat and stomped on a transient at a Shell Gas Station in the 7400 block of North Interstate Avenue before stealing his backpack.

About 4:10 a.m., someone from the pickup went up to a guy sitting in the passenger side of his vehicle in the 7200 block of North Olin Avenue, punched him repeatedly and then got back in the pickup.

About five minutes later, the pickup stopped in the middle of North Lombard Street and those inside got out and started punching and kicking a pedestrian crossing the street.

They left the area after stealing the person's cell phone.

Then, at about 5:30 a.m., the four apparently robbed the Arco gas station in the 7500 block of Northeast Martin Luther King Boulevard. They not only stole cigarettes but grabbed an employee by the hair, threw the person against a wall and beat the person with their fists and a baseball bat.
