PORTLAND, Ore. - If you're going to be out and about in your car this weekend, make sure you keep an eye out for the 17,000 runners and walkers who will be sharing the road with you.

The annual Hood to Coast Relay, with a route that will take participants from Timberline Lodge on Mount Hood to Seaside on the Oregon coast, is taking place this Friday and Saturday.

Along with the runners and walkers who will be out on the road, there will be a number of support vehicles as well.

According to the Oregon Department of Transportation, police agencies will have a visible patrol enforcement presence along the relay route.  Anyone observing a dangerous driver is asked to call the Oregon State Police dispatch line at (800) 452-7888 or 911.

For more information about the event, you can head to the Hood to Coast Relay Web site.
