PORTLAND, Ore. - One of four suspects captured on video during a frightening crime and assault spree has been apprehended by Portland police officers and members of the U.S. Marshals Fugitive Task Force, according to investigators in the case.

Benjamin Gonzalez, 25, was captured at his northeast Vancouver home on Wednesday.

Investigators said Gonzalez was one of four men riding around in a red pickup truck that was at the scene of multiple assaults, robberies and other crimes on August 12.

A man who appears to be Gonzalez is visible on video wielding an aluminum bat and hitting a man who resisted the swarming attackers at a gas station.

Police said they suspect Gonzalez and three other men victimized six people at five different locations.

Neighbors who live near Gonzalez were shocked at his arrest, calling him a family man with kids.

One woman called Gonzalez a good neighbor and worried for his children. She said her son and Gonzales' son often played together.

Police say tips leading to the arrest came in after widespread media playback of the high-quality security camera video, which clearly showed the suspects' actions, vehicle and faces.

Gonzalez faces assault and robbery charges. A court date has not been released.
