UNDATED - Tainted sprouts from a Washington company have been linked to a salmonella outbreak.
At least 15 people, including four in Oregon, have gotten sick after eating the alfalfa sprouts from Sprouters Northwest.
The Kent, Washington-based company voluntarily recalled the sprouts on Thursday.
Health officials say the sprouts have a rare strain of salmonella “that is not occurring anywhere else in the entire country.”
The first cases were reported in early August and two people required hospital care.
In 2004, Sprouters had to recall trays of alfalfa after salmonella sickened 12 people.
