OREGON CITY, Ore. - A 38-year-old man was killed during a fist fight that began as an argument at an Oregon City tavern early Saturday, authorities said.

Police identified the man killed as Michael Patrick Carey of Oregon City.

According to Oregon City police, several men got into an argument at the Midway Tavern at 1003 7th St. but a fist fight didn't start until a group of five was outside about a half block away from the tavern.

Police responded to the fight about 2:45 a.m. and found Carey dead and another man injured.

Investigators don't believe any weapons were used in the fight.

No one was immediately arrested but police did detain two men, whose names were not released.
