Grants Pass, Ore., woman dies at 107

GRANTS PASS, Ore. (AP) -- Irene "Stella" Johnson, who was believed to be Josephine County's oldest resident, has died. She was 107.

Johnson died Saturday at Highland House Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Grants Pass.

She was born Nov. 15, 1901, in Coromant, Minn., and was one of 12 children. She married Charles Johnson and the couple moved to Grants Pass in 1932.

They had two children, a son and a daughter. Her husband died in 1968. Her son, Robert, is also dead.

Johnson is survived by her daughter, Gwen Banks of Oakley, Calif.
