SALEM, Ore. (AP) - A Salem man has been sentenced to 20 years in prison after police found more than 1,000 images of child pornography on his computer.

Kevin Lee Deal pleaded guilty to 15 counts of encouraging child sex abuse.

Investigators said the images involved young children ranging from infants to toddlers, depicting rape, sodomy and other sexual acts.

The 46-year-old Deal and wife, Sarah, had already pleaded guilty to animal abuse and criminal mistreatment charges after investigators found 24 poodles at their home, plus eight dead poodle puppies in a freezer.

Police said a search of their home also found four children living in filthy conditions. The couple have two teenagers and two children of a family friend were staying with them.
