NEHALEM, Ore. — Although U.S. 101 through Nehalem remains closed, the flood waters are receding.

The area is prone to flooding, especially when snow in the coast range melts quickly and tides are high, but so far the flood waters have not been devastating.

The Tillamook County Sheriff's Office said there are no reports of injuries or damage.

The problems have mainly been high water and small mudslides affecting roadways.
