Residents reel from tire slashing spree
WASHINGTON COUNTY, Ore. - Someone slashed the tires on more than 30 vehicles in the Rock Creek area of Washington County overnight, authorities said.
According to the Washington County Sheriff's Office, a resident called 911 about 5:30 a.m. Tuesday to report numerous vehicles along Northwest Ponderosa Court with their tires flattened.
Sheriff's deputies responded and found many vehicles along that street as well as on Northwest Rock Creek Drive and Northwest Columbia Way with their street-side tires punctured.
Investigators believe the suspect or suspects walked down the streets sometime after midnight and used a sharp object to puncture the sidewalls of the tires.
Damages were estimated to be in the thousands of dollars, the sheriff's office said.
Anyone with information on the crimes or any victim who has not yet reported having their tires slashed was asked to call the sheriff's office at (503) 629-0111.
