Prescription drug measure projected to pass

PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) - A measures to expand Oregonians' access to discounted prescription drugs is projected to pass, according to KATU Political Analyst Tim Hibbitts.

Another consumer measure that restricts insurers from using credit scores when setting rates is projected to fail, Hibbitts said.

The insurance industry opposed the credit-scoring measure, and helped bankroll a $4.8 million campaign against the measure that said it would actually raise many customers' rates.

By contrast, there was little controversy over the prescription drug measure, which drew no organized opposition.
