Woman accused of leaving baby to die in toilet
HERMISTON, Ore. (AP) - Morrow County authorities arrested a Hermiston woman accused of murder in the death of her newborn baby.
The sheriff's office said Tuesday that sanitation workers discovered the baby in the tank of a portable toilet used by farm workers near Boardman.
Araceli Velasquez Espain is charged with murder, manslaughter, abuse of a corpse, criminal mistreatment and concealing the birth of an infant. She has been lodged at the Umatilla County Jail.
