PORT ANGELES, Wash. (AP) - Two teenagers were found dead Tuesday in a garage east of Port Angeles, apparently the victims of carbon monoxide poisoning.

It appears the 16-year-old boys were trying to refuel a portable generator that was supplying power to the adjacent home, said Jim Borte, a spokesman for the Clallam County Sheriff's Office. The home had lost power over the weekend because of a storm that dumped substantial snow and cut power to many residents in the county, he said.

The generator was inside the garage, and the boys apparently were overcome by fumes from the odorless, colorless gas as they were refilling the generator's fuel tank, Borte said.

The victims' names were not immediately released.  A Seattle television station reported that one of the victims lived at the house with his father, while the owner of the house was a grandfather to the second teen.

Borte said autopsies had been ordered on the victims.
