Police look for clues in arrow injury case

GRESHAM, Ore. - Police in Gresham are investigating an unusual incident that took place Thursday night.

Investigators say a man with an injury to his face, possibly from an arrow, walked from the Rockwood Motel to a nearby check cashing business and asked a motorist for help.

The motorist tried to take the man, identified as Kevin Evans, 41, to a nearby medical clinic but it was closed. The motorist then called 911.

Paramedics arrived on the scene and assisted Evan. He is reportedly due to have surgery on Friday at OHSU where he is listed in critical condition.

Police say Evans was registered at the motel under a different name, but did not elaborate.

Police also say they think the injury may have been caused by a crossbow or similar device.

The investigation is continuing.
