Stuck barge freed, heads up Columbia River
COLUMBIA RIVER - A barge that spent two days stuck in the Columbia River near Hood River was freed Friday evening and went upstream to its destination in Pasco.
The barge was originally carrying one million gallons of gasoline when it ran aground early Thursday morning.
A second barge was brought in to unload some of that gasoline and that made the stuck barge light enough so it could come off the river bottom.
