Missing motorcyclist's body found at wreck site
MULTNOMAH COUNTY, Ore. - A Hillsboro man who went missing a week ago after going on a motorcycle ride was found dead Sunday morning along with his motorcycle, which had gone off an embankment near Forest Park, authorities said.
The family of 55-year-old John N. Barendregt reported him missing on July 21, saying he left his home on a maroon 2007 Harley Davidson Road King about 2 p.m. two days earlier and never returned.
A passerby on Sunday noticed a motorcycle over an embankment on Northwest Germantown Road near the intersection of Northwest Old Germantown Road and Northwest Skyline Boulevard about 9:30 a.m. and called police, according to the Multnomah County Sheriff's Office. Deputies responded and found Barendregt's body at the scene.
Authorities said they were still investigating the cause of the wreck.
