Hiker missing in Curry County found alive

The Oregon Wing Civil Air Patrol has secured its air search operation after being notified by the Curry County Sheriff that the lost hiker they had been looking for since Saturday morning had been found alive.

CAP search aircraft and aircrews are now returning to their home bases in Medford and Hellebore.

There is no word on the condition of the 48-year-old male hiker who was found about 11:30 a.m. by ground searchers.

The man had been reported overdue and missing from a day hike in the Lobe Creek/Mt Emily area Friday evening and Sheriff's ground teams along with CAP air support, began their search efforts Saturday.
