Body found in woods near Forest Grove

NEAR FOREST GROVE, Ore. - A body was found Sunday in the Tillamook forest near the town of Forest Grove.

The body was found by hikers about 7 p.m. at the end of a logging landing about 3 1/2 miles south of Highway 6 west of Forest Grove. Police say no vehicle was found near the body.

Tillamook County Sheriff Todd Anderson said authorities have not determined the manner or cause of death but the situation looks "very suspicious." 

Multiple law enforcement agencies are working together to identify the body. Police report the body appears to be a male, but no other details concerning age or cause of death have been released.

Police have also not stated how long they believe the body has been at the location.

The area where the body was found is near Brown's Camp, several miles off the Wilson River Highway.
