A shooting at a Gresham 7-11 store early Saturday morning has police hunting for the shooter, who is still at large.
The following is a press release from the Gresham Police Department.
On Saturday, Oct. 17, at 1:25 a.m. Gresham Police were called to the report of a shooting in front of a 7-11 store in the area of Burnside and Southeast 188th Avenue. Witnesses state that they observed a male shoot another male then flee on foot Westbound on Burnside.
The victim got into a gray car and left the area, also westbound. When officers arrived they were able to locate shell casings and some blood. Gresham K9 began a check of the area, but were unsuccessful in finding a suspect.
While this was going on the victim arrived at Providence with a gunshot wound to the chest. He was then transferred to Emanuel for further treatment. His condition and name are unknown at this time.
The suspect is described as a black male, 25 years of age, skinny, shaved head, white shirt and baggy blue pants. Gresham Detectives were called out and the investigation continues.

UPDATE: The investigation into an early morning shooting continues at this hour. The victim has been identified as 27-year-old Johnny Brown of Portland. He suffered multiple gunshot wounds and is currently listed in stable condition at Emanuel Hospital. Anyone with any information is asked to call the Gresham Police, (503) 618-2318.
UPDATE Oct. 18: At 1 p.m. Sunday Gresham detectives arrested 24-year-old Anthony Dedmon of Portland in connection with the early morning shooting of Johnny Brown.
Gresham police along with its K9 unit responded and were able to locate a discarded handgun close by. Detectives said they learned that this shooting stemmed from an earlier altercation between the two men at Lucky's Bar and Grill at 345 N.W. Burnside in Portland. It is unclear how the two ended up in front of the 7-11 where the shooting occurred.
Dedmon was located and taken into custody in the area of Southeast 126th Avenue and Southeast Division Street. He will be lodged at Multnomah County Detention Center and charged with attempted murder, assault I and felon in possession of a firearm.
Brown remains in Emanuel Hospital in stable condition.
