Rifle used in hold-up of Beaverton video poker stop
The following is a press release from the Beaverton Police Department.
On Oct. 17, 2009, at 3:20 p.m. the Beaverton Police Department received a call of a robbery at Richard's 11429 S.W. Scholls Ferry Road in Beaverton. Dispatch was told two males had entered the business and one was armed with a gun.
When police arrived they learned one employee and two patrons had been inside when the robbery took place. Witnesses stated two males, with masks on, had walked in when one of them displayed a gun and demands for money were made. The Richard's employee complied and the suspects left with an unknown amount of money and packages of cigarettes. No one was injured.
Upon the initial arrival to the call Beaverton police officers had searched the area for the suspects but were unable to locate anyone. Witnesses had told police the subjects fled Richard's running north, towards the Conestoga Park Apartments. It's unknown whether a vehicle was parked nearby for their use.
Police were able to get a limited description of the two suspects. Both were said to be male, with thin builds and were last seen wearing dark clothing and masks. The gun used was believed to be a rifle.
