Arrest made in 7-11 shooting case

A shooting at a Gresham 7-11 store early Saturday morning has police hunting for the shooter, who is still at large.

GRESHAM, Ore. - Gresham detectives have arrested 24-year-old Anthony Dedmon of Portland in connection with the Saturday morning shooting of Johnny Brown. That shooting occurred in front of a 7-11 store near Burnside and Southeast 188th Avenue. 

Gresham police, along with its K9 unit, responded and were able to locate a discarded handgun nearby.

Detectives said they learned that this shooting stemmed from an earlier altercation between the two men at Lucky's Bar and Grill at 345 N.W. Burnside in Portland. It is unclear how the two ended up at the 7-11 where the shooting occurred. 

Dedmon was located at 1 p.m. Sunday. He was taken into custody in the area of Southeast 126th Avenue and Southeast Division Street.

Dedmon will be lodged at Multnomah County Detention Center. He is charged with attempted murder, assault I and felon in possession of a firearm.  

Meanwhile, Brown remains in Emanuel Hospital in stable condition.
