The following is a press release from Oregon State Police:

GRANTS PASS, Ore. - A 28-year-old Grants Pass man died Monday evening after running into the path of an eastbound vehicle on Highway 238 (Williams Highway) approximately nine miles east of Grants Pass. Oregon State Police troopers are continuing the investigation.

According to OSP Sergeant Jeff Fitzgerald, on Oct. 19, at around 7 p.m., a 2002 Chrysler PT Cruiser driven by 62-year-old Stephen Ewan of Williams was eastbound on Highway 238 in the 9000 block. For an unknown reason, a pedestrian ran into the road in front of the vehicle and Ewan was unable to avoid the pedestrian before striking him with his vehicle.
