Ward Weaver slightly injured in stabbing attempt
ONTARIO, Ore. - One of Oregon's most notorious killers was nearly stabbed by a fellow inmate at the Snake River Correctional Institution.
On March 4, an inmate tried to stab Ward Weaver with a homemade weapon. Weaver ended up with a scratch and a cut that did not require stitches.
The incident has been referred to prosecutors.
In 2004, Weaver was sentenced to life in prison without parole for killing two Oregon City girls - Ashley Pond and Miranda Gaddis.
