CLACKAMAS, Ore. – Police and a woman now unable to get around are asking the public to help find her powered scooter that was stolen from the Clackamas Town Center last Tuesday.

Theresa Soto, 37, contacted Clackamas County Sheriff’s Deputies after the battery-powered scooter, a blue “Buzz Around Lite,” was taken from near a bike rack located outside a J.C. Penny store at the Clackamas Town Center Mall.

Soto has cerebral palsy and depends on the scooter to get around independently. She said she hopes the scooter is recovered before it is possibly damaged.

At the time it was stolen, the blue scooter had a front wire basket, a “fragile” sticker on the back and slight damage to the front right area that had been repaired with red zip ties. A product photo appears below.

Soto said the scooter stopped working while she was at the mall and she had to leave it by the bike rack while she attempted to get some help.

She said that when she finally arranged for some assistance and returned to where she had parked the scooter, it was gone.

Soto holds a job near where the scooter was stolen. The scooter cost about $900.

The Clackamas County Sheriff's Office urges anyone with information concerning the crime to contact the Clackamas County Sheriff's Office's confidential Tip Line by phone at (503) 723-4949 or by using the online e-mail form.
