ALBANY, Ore. (AP) - Albany police say a 55-year-old woman injured when a car crashed through the front of a hair salon has died.

Charlene Diane O'Connell was taken to a Corvallis hospital after the Friday afternoon accident; police said she died about 5:30 p.m.

An employee of the Perfect Look Salon in the Albany Fred Meyer shopping center said the woman was a regular customer who was getting a shampoo when she was trapped between the car and a sink.

Police identified the driver of the Toyota Camry as 79-year-old Margaret Zipp. She was not injured. Another customer suffered a cut knee.

Police Capt. Eric Carter says the driver apparently hit the gas instead of the brake.
