68-year-old man hit and killed in Orchards

ORCHARDS, Wash. - A pedestrian was hit and killed in Orchards Friday night.

The incident happened in the 9000 block of Northeast 76th Street.

According to police, a 68-year-old man who lived in the area was hit by a 1991 Ford Econoline van.

A witness told police she saw the man walking in the travel lanes of the road just before he was hit. The area was not lit by street lamps.

Police said there were no signs that the driver was impaired and they did not issue any citations. However, the Clark County Sheriff's Office Traffic Unit will complete an investigation.

The identity of the pedestrian has not yet been released pending notification of next of kin.
