FORT LEWIS, Wash. -- Two more Fort Lewis Stryker brigade soldiers have been killed in Afghanistan.

The Defense Department on Monday said Spc. Gary L. Gooch Jr., 22, and Aaron S. Aamot, 22, died when a roadside bomb was detonated beneath their vehicle on November 5 in Jelewar, Afghanistan.

Both soldiers were assigned to the 5th Stryker Brigade Combat Team.

Aamot, of Custer, Wash., joined the army in 2006 after graduating from high school and was on his first deployment to Iraq.

Gooch, of Ocala, Fla., also joined the Army in 2006 and trained in Georgia before being assigned the Stryker brigade at Fort Lewis.
