TUALATIN, Ore. - Two are dead and two others are injured in a shooting at a drug-screening clinic that stemmed from a domestic dispute, police said Tuesday.

The shooting happened just before noon at Legacy MetroLab in Tualatin and police said 39-year-old Robert James Beiser opened fire with a rifle and killed his estranged wife 36-year-old Teresa Marie Beiser - an employee at the lab - then killed himself.

Court documents from Clackamas County Circuit Court show that Teresa filed for divorce from Robert on Oct. 30.
Both were from Gladstone, Ore.

Witnesses reported multiple shots at the business complex at Martinazzi Square  - at the intersection of Southwest Martinazzi Avenue and Southwest Warm Springs Street - at 11:48 a.m. Tuesday.

"This was a super-high blast," said Joe Perkins, a witness. "Everybody heard the shots."

Rob Harrison said he heard four rounds go off and “as I was doing that, looking through the parking lot, about ten more shots, nine or ten I’d say, just like a hammer. Boom, boom, boom! And it was definitely a gun. You could tell.”

Tualatin Police Chief Kent Barker said a 63-year-old man, who is an employee at Legacy MetroLab, suffered multiple gunshot wounds and was transported to OHSU by LifeFlight. His condition is not known at this time.

Additionally, a 20-year-old female was injured with non-life threatening injuries with cuts to her legs. She was taken to Legacy Emanuel Hospital. Read the story of her escape.

Their names have not been released.

Those who know Teresa Beiser, who was in a body building competition last month, said there were no outward signs of trouble in her marriage.

Neighbors of the Beiser’s said they didn’t know Teresa Beiser filed for divorce from her husband last than two weeks ago.

“It was a pretty quiet home. I walk my dogs by there every morning and the only activity is the dog barking occasionally,” said Phil Obrist.

Legacy MetroLab is a drug-screening lab at 7587 S.W. Mohawk St. Employers throughout the area send employees to this lab for work-related drug screenings. For example, this lab is an authorized collection site for workers in the Pacific Northwest Ironworkers Union.

Businesses in the complex - including a State Farm Insurance agency, a framing store and a bank - were evacuated at the time of the shooting. The Tigard-Tualatin School District put its schools on alert.
