PORTLAND, Ore. - Tremendous support - that's how the school district is describing the outpouring from the community after a blaze ripped through Marysville School on Tuesday.

School leaders said it is that support that will make it possible for them to open a welcoming and clean school building on Monday. They will go to Rose City Park School, a northeast Portland school that was closed down in 2007.

Custodians and other workers started showing up there on Tuesday, worked late into the night and some were back early Wednesday morning.

Superintendent Carole Smith said there was an outpouring of support the instant the fire happened.  To find out how you can help, head to our Southeast Portland community site.
