Man found only in neighbor's underwear pleads not guilty
Randall Joseph Giesbers

SALEM, Ore. - The man up on charges stemming from an August incident where a neighbor said she caught him in her garage, rifling through her dirty laundry and wearing only her bra and underwear has now pleaded "not guilty."

Randall Giesbers’ plea hearing was to be Wednesday, Nov. 18, and was “set over” to 1:30 p.m., Dec. 16.

The Salem man was arrested after the tip from his neighbor, who said she left her garage door open and she and her boyfriend caught Giesbers inside. Detectives then searched Giesbers home and his own garage. They said they confiscated enough stolen women's clothing, shoes, and underwear to fill seven trash bags. (See "Burglary suspect caught in victim's underwear.")

The 47 year old has now plead "not guilty" to a number of theft charges. Marion County detectives said a lot of items found in Giesbers' possession came from his neighbor's home.

After searching the house, Deputies charged Giesbers with burglary, theft, criminal trespass and possession of illegal fireworks.

The district attorney's case against Giesbers - and Giesbers' chance to make his own case - will begin in Marion County court in 2010.
