Police make arrests in Bend burglary case
BEND, Ore. (AP) - Police arrested two teenagers yesterday who are accused of ransacking the family home of Tyler Eklund, a 14-year-old boy who was recently paralyzed in a snowboarding accident.
The two Bend teenagers were taken to juvenile detention center.
Tyler Eklund has been in intensive care since April 1, when he broke his neck during practice for a national snowboarding competition at Truckee, Calif. The teenagers allegedly broke in to the house and ransacked it while the family was out of town tending to Eklund.
