BEAVERTON, Ore. -- A Beaverton man whom authorities began searching for Thursday was found Saturday - shivering and close to death in Clatsop County.

"I've been doing this since I was 15," said Ryan Richard, a member of the search and rescue team. "I was surprised to see him alive."

Clatsop County Sheriff Tom Bergin said the search-and-rescue team found 22-year-old Stephan Fox around noon in an area clear-cut by loggers.

A Clatsop County citizen had reported finding Fox's vehicle, abandoned, Thursday.

Searchers discovered Fox about a mile from where his vehicle was discovered. He was suffering from extreme hypothermia and was unable to walk, according to paramedics. But he was alive.
