Over 100 dogs seized from Albany home

By Associated Press

ALBANY, Ore. (AP) - Linn County sheriff's deputies confiscated about 100 small dogs on Monday from the home of an Albany woman they say had been moving back and forth across county lines to avoid losing the animals.

The woman was accused of neglect.

The Heartland Humane Society said officials had known of the situation for some time but that her moving back and forth had foiled previous attempts to seize the animals.

Human Society operations director Jamie Fitzpatrick said the case will stretch their resources but that it is important that the dogs no longer have to suffer.

The agency is seeking donations of canned and dry dog food and looking for foster homes to care for the dogs at least temporarily.  Click here for information.
