Second body in two days found in Portland waters

PORTLAND, Ore. - A body has been found in Portland's Columbia Slough. This is the second body found in Portland-area waterways since Saturday.

Detectives from the Portland Police Bureau's Missing Person's Unit, with the assistance of the Multnomah County Sheriff's Office, located  the body of someone they have identified as "a 38-year-old man" on Sunday. The body was found in the slough under the Interstate-5 overpass near Martin Luther King Boulevard.

The identification of the deceased man is being withheld until family notifications can be made.

Detectives are treating this incident as a suspicious death investigation at this time. The deceased man was reported missing on Nov. 19, 2009.

Missing Persons Detectives requested the Multnomah County Sheriff's Office Dive Team after receiving information that the deceased man had been seen in the area after he was reported missing.
