PORTLAND, Ore. - A man accused of fondling the legs and feet of female shoe shoppers in several cities pleaded no contest to sex abuse charges on Tuesday.
Steven George Bronson was arrested back in August after several victims reported that he rubbed their feet and legs. Two women said he even went so far as to lick their thighs.
Bronson told KATU back in August (see interview below) that he was only asking women to try on shoes for him and his actions were misinterpreted. A judge ruled he was not fit to help in his own defense and sent him to a state hospital for review.
On Tuesday, Bronson spoke on his own behalf and told the judge his right to a speedy trial was violated in this process and he wanted all charges against him dismissed.
The judge denied the request and instead ordered that Bronson be registered as a sex offender, enter a residential treatment center and serve three years probation.
