HILLSBORO, Ore. - The Federal Bureau of Investigations is confirming that a local man dubbed the "Grandpa Bandit" has struck again.
The Bank of America branch at 1375 N.W. 185th Avenue in Hillsboro was robbed just after 3 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 22. No weapon was shown, although FBI documents report that this man "has threatened tellers in previous robberies," according to an FBI statement. "In one instance, investigators believe that he threatened to kill a teller as he showed her a weapon in his waistband."
This marks the fifth financial-institution robbery – stretching from Salem to Sherwood and West Linn – linked to the bold gray-haired robber.
In response, the Oregon Financial Institutions Security Task Force and Bank of America are offering up to a $10,000 reward. Details.
