YACOLT, Wash. – Two offenders have been confirmed missing from Larch Corrections Center as of 10:30 p.m. Jan. 2. (KATU.com did not receive notification of these missing inmates until 12:13 p.m. Jan. 3.) The inmates were still at large as of Monday afternoon.

The missing inmates are Christopher A. Woodrum, No. 891363, a 22-year-old white male. He is described as 5-feet-9-inches tall, 180 pounds, with brown eyes, brown hair and a light complexion. He was serving a sentence out of King County.

Inmate Derek Brian Price, No. 807178, is a 27-year-old white male. He is described as 6-feet-2-inches tall, 190 pounds, blue eyes, blond hair and a light complexion. He was serving a sentence out of Pierce County.

Both offenders were believed to be wearing tan pants, a tan jacket, and a white or red shirt when they escaped.

Department of Corrections staff, including the center's Career Criminal Apprehension Team, and local law enforcement report that they are "pursuing the apprehension of the escapees."

Larch Corrections Center is at 15314 N.E. Dole Valley Road in Yacolt. This is about 15 miles northeast of Vancouver, Wash. It is a minimum-security federal prison.

The center houses around 400 inmates on land leased from the Department of Natural Resources. Inmates may be assigned to perform forestry work and community service crews for the department, in addition spending time in the laundry, classrooms, a religious center, medical offices and an offender library.
