PORTLAND, Ore. - KATU News has learned the Bridge City Veterinary Clinic on 82nd Avenue will re-open July 30 under new ownership.

Dr. Paul Fahlman and his wife, Stacey Katler, confirm they have purchased the clinic and its records. Katler also serves as the Oregon State Racing Commission's equine veterinarian. She told KATU News the deal is nearly complete and it appears the clinic's animal records are in-house and intact. The couple currently runs the Milwaukie Animal Clinic. They say they bought the clinic in an effort to help animals and their owners.

The previous owner, Dr. Sharon Walle, left Portland more than one year ago for unspecified reasons. In early July, KATU News received complaints from viewers claiming they were unable to access their pet records from Walle's clinic.

"She's taken away a lot of peoples trust," said Melissa Carsner, a dog owner and Walle's former customer.

Several customers said their calls to a toll free number posted on the clinic's chained entrance door were not returned.

"I took down the number and called it again and called it again and boom- no number," said customer Timmy Ryan. "We want a history of what they've done with our cats."

On July 3, the Oregon State Veterinary Medical Examining Board told KATU News they were not sure how to interpret the concerns pointed out by viewers and former patients.

"We know that she is residing in England," said executive director Lori Makinen.

Makinen also said the board does not deal with financial problems and Walle's license is still valid.
