RIDGEFIELD, Wash. – Nearly 6,000 electricity customers lost power for about 90 minutes Sunday after a squirrel tangled with equipment at a Clark Public Utilities substation, reports KATU news partner The Columbian.

Electricity was restored to 5,883 customers in the Salmon Creek and Ridgefield areas between about 1:20 and 1:40 p.m., said utility spokesman Mick Shutt.

The substation is at 159th Street and Northeast 10th Avenue, south of the Clark County Event Center at the Fairgrounds. Shutt said the outage hit customers at 11:55 a.m.
