UO gay student org hit with swastika
EUGENE, Ore. (AP) - Vandals have spray-painted a swastika in the office of a University of Oregon gay rights group. University spokeswoman Julie Brown says a custodian found the damage was found early Monday in the office of the Lesbian Gay Bisexual Trans Queer Alliance in the Student Union building. A swastika was painted in black on a carpet, while black paint also was sprayed on a television and computer monitor. The Register-Guard reports that school President Richard Lariviere spoke to the organization Monday, calling the act an offense against the entire university. Campus and Eugene police are investigating.
