PORTLAND, Ore. - Portland police are searching for a man whom they said is fueling a methamphetamine addiction with identity theft.

He's 20-year-old Darren Brown. They believe he went up to the counter at a northeast Portland Rite-Aid at Cully and Prescott with an unidentified woman and used a stolen credit card and I.D. to buy cigarettes, hair gel, Mr. Clean scrubbers and other items.

Portland police officer David Staab said the scrubbers, which were found later in the back of the pair's stolen rental car, caught his eye because they are commonly used to file or sand the edges of fake I.D.'s and smooth them out.

Police also found dozens of hypodermic needles in the car that are used for meth.

Brown currently has a felony warrant out of Grays Harbor, Wash., as well.

If you see him, officers ask you to call 911.
