Deputies arrest two following Craigslist prostitution probe

Members of the Clackamas County Sheriff's Office (CCSO), uniformed patrol division received investigative information concerning blatantly obvious prostitution activity being advertised through the Portland section of Craigslist. The investigative information specifically identified the source of the activity to emanate from a location in Clackamas County.

Acting on the investigative lead information, Clackamas County Sergeant Scott Anderson wrote an affidavit in support of a search warrant; which was executed on Wednesday afternoon, July 25th at 3:00 p.m.

This search warrant seeking evidence of prostitution was executed at the residential address of 3233 SE Park Avenue, in Milwaukie.

Members of the Clackamas County Sheriff's Office uniform division and the Clackamas County Interagency Task Force assisted in the combined effort to administer the search warrant. The search warrant mission required the combined total of at least eight law enforcement personnel on the scene.

The targeted residence for the search warrant was situated in the 'lower level' of a two-story residence located at the provided residential address.

During the search warrant event, two persons of interest were located inside the residence, interviewed and arrested at the scene. T

One of the the two occupants was identified as Randi Jo Goodwin, born in January 1985. Goodwin provided investigators with a residential address on Molalla Avenue, in Oregon City. She has no established criminal history.

Goodwin was lodged in the Clackamas County Sheriff's Office Jail for the charge of promoting prostitution and given a bail amount of $15,000. Goodwin was released from the jail and is scheduled to appear in Clackamas County Circuit Court, on August 23rd, at 1:30 p.m.

Also arrested was Jimmy Rodger Varner, born in December 1966. Varner said his residential address was 3233 SE Park Avenue, which was also the search warrant location, in Milwaukie.

Varner has prior arrests for controlled substance and child neglect. He was transported to the Clackamas County Sheriff's Office Jail and lodged for the charge of promoting prostitution, with a bail amount of $15,000. Varner was released from the jail and is scheduled to appear in the Clackamas County Circuit Court, on August 23rd, at 1:30 p.m.

As a result of the investigation, Clackamas County Sheriff's Office personnel located items seized as evidence described as drug paraphernalia; several computers; printers and fax machines; an undisclosed amount of US currency; credit cards and printed documents.
