TUALATIN, Ore. – Soft-drink maker Coca-Cola is closing three local distribution centers: Tualatin, The Dalles and Woodland, Wash.

The Daily News in Longview reports the Woodland closure will affect 56 employees. It's set to happen on April 1.

The good news, according to The Daily News, is that distribution work is being transferred to a new center at the Coca-Cola Bottling Co. of Oregon's Wilsonville headquarters south of Portland.

The consolidation come after a publicized pricing dispute with Issaquah, Wash.-based Costco in late-2009. The Associated Press reported that Costco decided not to order any more products made by the Atlanta-based beverage company until the squabble was resolved. Costco made the dispute unusually public, posting messages in stores nationwide and online telling shoppers its reasons.

Coca-Cola Enterprises is the world's largest marketer, producer and distributor of products of The Coca-Cola Co. The company also distributes Dr Pepper and several other beverage brands in selected territories. Its western U.S. bottling operations are based in Los Angeles.
