Knox wins privacy-invasion lawsuit
PERUGIA, Italy – There has been a small victory for Amanda Knox, the Seattle student embroiled in a roller coaster in and out of court since her roommate died in 2009.
Knox has just won a lawsuit against an Italian media company for invasion of privacy. She was awarded $55,000 after a newspaper owned by the company ran excerpts from her journal.
Knox is from Seattle and a former University of Washington student. She was convicted in 2009 of killing her roommate while studying abroad in Italy.
She is appealing that conviction.
