TROUTDALE, Ore. -- A newly released 911 call about the crash that precluded the disappearance of 29-year-old Kyle Peterson sheds little light into why he vanished.

The woman placed the 911 call after her family heard the Gresham man crash his car on Monday night in Troutdale.

"My husband and my son heard it and we're looking out our window and what it looks like is the guy's trying to move his car, but he's gonna go down the cliff towards the river," the woman told dispatchers.

Police responded and talked with Peterson, but at some point, he walked in to the nearby woods and hasn't been seen since.

On Friday, there were still no clues as to where he might have gone.

No future searches have been planned. Investigators say they're reviewing evidence to decide their next move.
