PORTLAND, Ore. - A delivery truck witnesses say ran a red light was hit by a MAX light rail train Wednesday evening in downtown Portland. Six people were hurt.

The collision took place at Northwest First Avenue and Northwest Couch Street in Portland's Old Town district at about 6:10 p.m. The passengers that were hurt suffered only minor injuries.

The delivery truck was flipped on its side by the force of the collision. It also severed a power pole during the impact.

MAX passenger Kate Moore said "I heard another passenger yelling we were going to hit him. The [MAX] driver was honking the horn, then we had an impact."

The collision closed the MAX line temporarily and passengers had to take buses to their destination.

Police have not issued any citations but the incident is still under investigation.

Medical personnel take away a passenger who was hurt aboard the train.
