McMinnville man accused in sex-abuse case

McMINNVILLE, Ore. – A 56-year-old McMinnville man faces several charges after police say he sexually abused a teenage girl.

Mark Stanfield was arrested Friday afternoon after an alleged attack early Friday morning. As of this weekend he was being held in the Yamhill County Correctional Facility.

McMinnville officers said they took a report of sexual abuse from a female around 14 years old at 1 a.m. Friday. The report led them to Stanfield's Northeast Burnett Road home.

A search warrant was served at the Burnett Road residence, where they reportedly found sexually explicit photographs. According to a McMinnville Police Department press release, "evidence was recovered that verified this report."

Stanfield is in the Yamhill County jail pending arraignment. He faces the following charges:

  • Unlawful sexual penetration in the second degree  (five counts)
  • Encouraging child sexual abuse in the second Degree  (seven counts)    
  • Sex abuse in the first degree (five counts)
  • Using a child in a display of sexually explicit conduct
