Six injured when Honda spins out of control

BEND, Ore. (AP) - Six young people were sent to a Bend hospital on Wednesday after a Honda spun out of control on Old Bend Redmond Highway and hit a tree.

According to the Oregon State Police, front passengers Duffy Dustin and Natasha Schuler were extricated from the vehicle and are in critical condition. The 18-year-olds are both from Redmond.

Driver Richard Lopez of Redmond and three other passengers were treated and released from the hospital. A seventh person in the car declined treatment at the scene.

State troopers suspect that excessive speed contributed to the crash, but it is still under investigation.
