Apartment fire in Wilsonville displaces five residents

WILSONVILLE, Ore. – Five people were displaced from their homes after a fire at an apartment complex early Saturday morning.

A man woke up to the sound of a fire alarm and the smell of smoke in his second-floor apartment around 12:30 a.m. He quickly woke up his two brothers, left the building and called 911.

Residents in neighboring apartments also left the building.

When firefighters arrived, they found flames coming out of second-story windows. The fire had spread to the attic, and moved above the apartment next door.

The fire broke through the roof, and it took crews just over a half hour to put it out.

One person was treated on the scene for smoke inhalation. Investigators are still working to figure out what caused the fire.
